Baby Rafferty Isaac Was “Born Twice”

In October 2024, a surgical team in Oxford University performed a rare procedure on a pregnant mother named Lucy who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Doctors were concerned that if Lucy waited until after the baby was born to remove the cancerous tumors that there would be an increased risk of the cancer already spreading to other areas of the body, threatening her life. During a five-hour surgery, surgeons temporarily lifted her womb out of her body containing her baby while they removed the ovarian tumors. The surgery was successful, and the doctors were able to remove the tumors while preserving the pregnancy. Baby Rafferty was later delivered safely!
