Planned Parenthood filed an emergency appeal Wednesday demanding that the U.S. Supreme Court block Texas from defunding it of millions of tax dollars. KVUE reports Planned Parenthood and its affiliates responded after Texas kicked the abortion chain out of the state Medicaid program this week.

Yesterday, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled 11-5 that Texas can disqualify Planned Parenthood from the state’s Medicaid program. The favorable ruling follows a 2015 lawsuit when Texas stopped Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid reimbursements after undercover videos revealed the abortion giant trafficked baby body parts.
