President Donald Trump’s administration defended states’ rights to protect women and unborn babies through abortion restrictions Thursday in an amicus brief. The National Law Journal reports the U.S. Justice Department filed the brief in the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court case June Medical Services v. Gee, which challenges a Louisiana abortion clinic regulation.
