On Feb. 4, 2020, shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump finished delivering his State of the Union address, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi picked up her copy of the speech and ripped it in half. In a debate that followed immediately on social media, some people applauded Pelosi for the act and others criticized her for being disrespectful.
