A young rape survivor in India may abort her unborn baby in a late-term abortion, a court ruled Monday. The Times of India reports a Surat local court granted the 15-year-old girl an exception to the country’s 20-week abortion limit. The girl is just over 20 weeks pregnant with her unborn baby.

Government leaders in India are pushing to expand the killing of unborn babies in their nation. The Hindustan Times reports the Union Cabinet of India, which is led by the prime minister, approved a bill Wednesday to legalize abortions up to 24 weeks. Currently, abortions are legal up to 20 weeks throughout India.
