Senate Democrats this afternoon approved the nomination of abortion activist Rachel Levine to be Assistant Health Secretary. Senators voted 52-48 in favor of ending debate on the nomination, which is opposed by pro-life groups. Republicans Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, both abortion supporters, were the only GOP lawmakers to join Democrats supporting Levine.

Joe Biden chose another pro-abortion Democrat leader for his administration Tuesday when he named Pennsylvania Health Secretary Rachel Levine as his assistant secretary of health. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Levine, a pediatrician, will help Xavier Becerra, currently the attorney general of California, lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under Biden.
