South Carolina Committee Passes Bill Banning Abortions When Unborn Baby’s Heartbeat Begins – LifeNews.com

The South Carolina Senate moved forward with a bill Tuesday to protect unborn babies from abortion once their heartbeats are detectable. WRDW News 12 reports a state Senate committee approved an amended version of the bill in a 4-3 vote, moving it forward to the full Senate Medical Affairs Committee.

The Supreme Court barred enforcement of a Louisiana law called the Unsafe Abortion Protection Act on a five to four vote Thursday night. The high court granted an emergency request to stay a 2014 Louisiana law requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.
