What a year! When we started out on New Year’s Eve, I was naturally expecting an exciting year ahead. While it has been an extreme roller coaster ride; I think most of us would have loved to have skipped the trip, right? Individual losses were multiplied by thousands with the Coronavirus (Covid-19). It almost drove me, a devout teetotaler, to pick up a bottle. Just kidding…
Nevertheless, in the last few days of the year, all it seems that we can do is pray for clarity because we’re ending the year with more questions than answers. I wake up every morning and listen to Insight for Living’s Pastor Chuck Swindoll. Don’t think to much of me for that commitment; I’m shooting marbles the whole time in Luxor: Quest for the After Life. Even that has taken on a whole new meaning for so many as the bioweapon from China has killed more Americans and citizens from other nations than the number of marbles that I’ve shot in all the years of Luxor that I’ve enjoyed.
Now, we have several vaccines that are getting mixed reviews as well as ominous threats if we choose to pass (thank you very much). For example, my husband and I are interested in flying to DC for Inauguration Day to meet our new source, Professor Toto from First Harvest Ministries. Frankly, this sweet teacher has been giving me oxygen as I await the fog to clear from the swamp. But, if we don’t have a gold star for getting a vaccine, will we even be allowed on a flight?
Another source that I appreciate providing clarity and prayers with declaration that God is still on the throne is Dutch Sheets from Give Him 15: Daily Prayer. I actually think that Dutch needs to check out this video from Professor Toto as he’s not the only one questioning the sanity of President Trump signing the Democratic wish list shrewdly disguised as Coronavirus Relief. Here are both of their videos from this morning:
Let’s just say that I hope this self-proclaimed puppy from the Wizard of Oz has as great a grasp on the U.S. Constitution and legal ramifications as he claims.
I mean it seems like just a huge tantrum to make a speech against a bill that was not only delayed until after the election by the Democrats via Nancy Pelosi for purely political motivation and includes more support for International causes than to rescue families that are standing in meal lines for the first time in their lives! At least, in the face of an extended lockdown, we are receiving 2K rather than $600 each. But, really, since the bill can now sit on President Trump’s desk for 45 days, will we ever actually get the check in the mail? Only the scarecrow, Dorothy and the Tin Man know for sure. It does seem more like pulp fiction than a classic in my opinion.
I’m supposed to be writing to reassure Common Sense Constitutional Conservatives (CSCC) that everything will work out in the end. Is President Trump the hero of the story who will be re-inaugurated on January 20? I think not. The Hero of the story trumps Trump. I don’t think that our President minds at all. In fact, he and I believe that God is not finished with America, yet. The reason for this delay is that as a self-proclaimed Christian nation (despite abortion), we are still furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ as Dutch shared in the video above. In closing out this post, I’d like to share some actual encouragement that I hope will uplift you and carry you into 2021.
Prayer and declaration from Dutch Sheets:
Lord, we ask for Holy Spirit strategies and understanding to spring forth this week. We ask that evil forces of darkness will be pushed back and angels will dominate the air over America. Just as Daniel’s prayers empowered Angelic warfare that dislodged the principalities of Persia, we ask that ours do the same. If Angel’s fighting for us need Michael’s assistance, please send him with his war army. Rend the heaven’s this week. And, Lord, we are not unaware of the potential for violence over this election. We ask and believe that You will give us victory over that as well. We boldly declare that You will arise and Your enemies be scattered. (Psalm 68:1) Let Your judgements bring to justice those who foment and conduct violence and protect the innocent, we pray. We thank you for these things and ask them in the authority of Christ. Amen. Our decree today is: We will be faithful in prayer and action and the God of breakthrough will prevail. Amen.
