Morla, I bring terrible news. Did you know that the Empress is very ill?
Not that it matters, but yes. Actually we don’t care.
If I don’t save her, she’ll die! There’s a terrible nothing sweeping over the land. Don’t you care about that? !
We don’t even care whether on not we care.
This is the very condition that America finds herself in: there is indeed a great nothing sweeping across our land! Today, we are Morla and the question is will we act or simply sigh, sneeze, and go about our daily business? Or worse, will we join those who share in the glee of watching inconvenient infants die without the merest comfort?
I thought about showing a map with each state that legalizes infanticide in black like the North and South in the civil war because this situation deserves the same weight as that cause. Yet, abortion has always been infanticide since life begins at conception. Just look at these ultrasounds if you have any doubt.
Lincoln described the USA as a nation “conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal,” and represented the Civil War as a test that would decide whether such a nation, the Union sundered by the secession crisis, could endure. He extolled the sacrifices of those who died at Gettysburg in defense of those principles, and exhorted his listeners to resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
Sadly, we are not the noble generation that was willing to die to free the slaves simply because they were in fact, human beings and not property. Generations removed, we quibble about the difference between a human being and person and when “life” begins and conclude that it only begins when a pregnant or just delivered mother says so. And, if she walks away, then so be it. That’s her “choice” i.e. her property. President Lincoln likely rolls over in his grave. His question remains as to whether or not this nation, under God, will perish from the earth. Perhaps, it already has for we have apparently forgotten our God who has reserved the verdict of life or death for Himself concluding that we know what’s best, individually. And if what is best for me costs the life of an innocent, then so-be-it: We can’t legislate morality (even though that is the whole purpose of laws).
Today’s Lincoln, Rusty Thomas, of Operation Rescue/Operation Save America, hopes that it is not too late for America. Recently, he led a day of mourning much like that somber day after the battle at Gettysburg, only the gathering was in Albany, NY. Here are his remarks (shared with permission):
There comes a time when men and nations cross certain lines. When that happens, God’s people must of necessity according to the Book of James, “Lament, mourn and weep! We must turn our laughter into mourning and our joy to gloom.” Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, declared, “The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, But the heart of fools is in the house of mirth” (Ecclesiastes 7:4).
A major line was crossed in our beleaguered nation on January 22nd, 1973. The Supreme Court who is not the Supreme Being revoked our national covenant of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and replaced it with a covenant of death. Roe vs. Wade has produced a culture of death that has savaged our nation and defiled our land. Our Federal government betrayed its sacred trust, which is to protect life and stop the shedding of innocent blood and has defended the indefensible ever since.
We are in NY, because another major line has been crossed in the midst of the American holocaust. You all saw it on the news. Gov. Cuomo, the NY legislators, and the “We the People” of the state of NY passed a so-called bill that would slay innocent children made in the image of God up to the moment of birth.
I’m not an ageist, so I do not put anymore value on late term babies than I do at the moment of conception babies, but watching the celebration, the high fives and the demonic glee after passing this iniquitous decree, quite frankly, it turned my stomach. I thought, how ghoulish? How deceived can a people be? How sick can souls become? How depraved? The words of the prophet Jeremiah came roaring to my mind, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it” (Jeremiah 17:9)?
If we are in our right minds with proper affections, this should break our hard hearts, tenderize our seared consciences, and inspire us as a nation to fulfill 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
How then shall we live was the question posed by Francis Shaeffer, especially, in light of this new line that has been crossed. You see, this line in NY was not established by an unjust court that put forth a lawless decree and a misguided citizenry went along to get along. No, this was the state of NY fully embracing the covenant of death and coming into complete agreement with this pact from Sheol.
How shall we respond? If you are in NY, historically, you have 3 options. You can stay and fight to reform this state, or you can flee to another state. Either way, it is fight or flight time. A third option is to divide the state and separate from the immoral madness subjecting NY to this bloody tyranny. You seriously need to seek the Lord when it comes to these options.
If you are from other states, what can we take away from what has happened in New York? Other liberal states want to follow the wide road to destruction led by NY in their godless pursuit of legalizing their blood lust up till the moment of birth. Some are even floating the idea of murdering children after birth.
These states are defying the Feds and telling Washington DC, we don’t care what laws you pass in our nation, in our state we are going to keep murdering our children. If they can defy the Feds to continue to do evil, how much more should other states ignore Washington DC when it comes to defending the life of the preborn? If some states can do it for evil, surely other states can do it for good.
Yes, this is day of mourning. It is a day of moral outrage. It is a day of warning. We are in deep trouble with the Almighty. We have committed child sacrifice. We have paraded our sin like Sodom. We have filled our nation with the innocent blood of our own sons and daughters. We are staggering under the weight of blood guiltiness and under the just judgment of God. Thus it is a day for us to fast, pray, and repent to change course as a people and a nation.
It is a day for sovereign states of this union to rise up and place the Constitutional chain back on the Federal government, restore the proper checks and balances that have fallen to the wayside in recent decades, and unashamedly declare, “We will no longer allow the murder of our own children, nor will we allow the God ordained institution of marriage to be perverted in our states!”
God bless you saints and keep pressing on till baby murder is driven back to hell from whence it came in Jesus’ name!
In his words, I hear the battle cry, “This means war!” The war for our nation is spiritual warfare and the cry is for repentance because we all share the blood-guiltiness; our hands raised in praise are dripping the blood of innocents. As Penny Lea shared in “Sing a Little Louder“, this is our holocaust.
There is a new movement calling churches to the sidewalks in front of abortion clinics which I encourage. I already know the power of one or a few counselors who stand pleading because of my fellowship with Pro-Life Action Ministries. Just last week, I was blessed to participate in a baby shower for one of the babies that were saved by choice. For that is our cry until America abolishes abortion one and for all, “Choose Life!”. They say, “It takes a village to raise a child!” Perhaps, the church on the sidewalk will be seen as that village and a mother will indeed let her child live because, with new courage, she will realize that she is not alone.
